Call for submissions


Boink Magazine, a nationally distributed, Boston-based sex magazine seeks fiction and non-fiction submissions for upcoming issues. Potential for a regular writing gig definitely available.

We prefer our writers to be current college students or at least college-aged (18-26), and to write sex-related articles and stories relevant to college life.

Writing samples available upon request. Serious inquiries only.

Submission Guidelines

The following information should appear both at the top of your submission and in the email to which it is attached.

* Author's name
* Author's mailing address
* Author's email address
* Author's phone number
* Author's school affiliation
* Author's age
* Title of submission
* Name under which submission should be published
* Genre (Non-fiction or Fiction)
* Word Count (available in Word Document Properties)

Please submit your work in Microsoft Word format (12-point Courier font, double-spaced)

Submissions should range in length between 1000 2500 words.

Submissions may be either fiction or non-fiction, but must deal with the themes of sex, love or relationships from the perspective of college-aged individuals. All sexual orientations are welcome and diversity of opinion is encouraged.

Non-fiction submissions may include opinion pieces, prescriptive advice, personal anecdotes, or confessions.

Fiction submissions should be character/plot-driven short stories. They should engage the reader above and beyond any sexual content and must be more than just descriptions of people having sex.

Adult language is acceptable and encouraged where appropriate. We will not censor any work, but suggest that gratuitous use of profanity for its own sake will not improve any piece.

We may, at our discretion, request edits from an author and reserve the right to edit pieces ourselves prior to publication for reasons of style, readability, or length.

All submissions should be original works that have not been previously published and must include a release from the author/copyright holder giving permission for publication.

All published submissions will be paid $ .05/word at the time the piece is published.

You may submit as many individual pieces as you wish for consideration.
