Please note that the 2009 edition of Best Lesbian Erotica will be Tristan Taormino's last as editor. The anthology will continue on in the very capable hands of Kathleen Warnock.

Kathleen Warnock is now accepting submissions for Best Lesbian Erotica 2010

Guidelines for Submission:

*    Submit short stories, self-contained novel excerpts, other prose
*    Unpublished material will be considered
*    Previously published material will also be considered, provided it was
      or will be published between 9/1/2008 & 12/31/2009
*    Include a cover page with: Author's Name, Title of Submission(s),
      Address, Phone/Fax, and Email Address
*    All submissions must be typed & double-spaced; number the pages.
*    Each submission should be a maximum of 5,000 words
      (list wordcount on title page)
*    You may submit a maximum of 3 different pieces of work
*    Submit 2 hard copies of each submission
*    No email submissions will be accepted, but you can email queries to
      Kwarnockble (at) gmail.com
*    No manuscripts will be returned.
*    VERY IMPORTANT: I cannot accept any submission that is being
      simultaneously submitted to another annual erotica anthology (for
      example, The Ultimate Lesbian Erotica, Best Women's Erotica, etc.)
*    I accept submissions throughout the year, and the final (postmark)
     deadline for me to receive your submission each year is April 1.
     All submissions will be responded to by the end of September. The
     anthology is published each year in November by Cleis Press.

DEADLINE: must be postmarked by APRIL 1, 2009
(Submissions accepted year round, the earlier the better!)

Mailing Guidelines:

From the USA
-postmarked April 1 or earlier
-Recommended Methods: First Class, Priority Mail
If you must have a confirmation that I received your submission other than USPS Delivery Confirmation, then enclose a self addressed stamped postcard (with a Forever Stamp) which I will send back to you.

From Canada
-postmarked April 1 or earlier
-Recommended Methods: Regular USA Letter Post (Air Mail), XpressPost USA

From Everywhere Else
-postmarked April 1 or earlier

From KW: I discourage you from spending a lot of money for overnight mailing services; it's about the postmark, not about when it gets here. If you can't make the postmark date, email and ask for an extension (which I may or may not be able to grant you).
